Roseline Chiajughim Kasali

It was a day that forever changed the course of my life — the day I was left alone in the wilderness, with no one to care for me and no idea what the future held. But even in that moment of uncertainty, fate was already at work. That very day, Mrs. Roseline Chiajughim Kasali found me, and from that point on, my life would never be the same. She became not just a mother to me, but the guiding force behind everything I am today.

As I grew up in Mrs. Kasali’s care, I was blissfully unaware of the circumstances that had brought me into her life. I only knew that she loved me deeply and that our home was filled with warmth and kindness. It wasn’t until December 2015, when she sat me down for a heart-to-heart conversation, that I learned the full story of how I came to be with her. In that moment of openness, she revealed the truth she had kept hidden for so long, a truth that showed the depth of her love and the strength of her character.

Mrs. Kasali told me about my past, about how she had found me and made the decision to take me in as her own. She explained that while I was not her biological child, I was the child of her heart. She chose me deliberately, out of love, and with a desire to give me the life I deserved. In that moment, I realized that our bond was something truly special. I wasn’t just a child she happened to find; I was a soul she had chosen to nurture and protect.

On July 1st, 2018, my world was shaken when Mrs. Kasali passed away after a successful hernia operation. A woman of deep faith, she had gone to church to give thanks for the success of her surgery when she unexpectedly found eternal peace. Losing her was a devastating blow, but it also marked a time to reflect on the incredible woman she was and the impact she had on my life. Today, I honor the woman who not only gave me a home but shaped me into the person I am. Her influence is woven into every aspect of my life, and I am forever grateful for the love and wisdom she shared with me.

Mrs. Kasali’s life was defined by her love for children. Although she faced the heartache of being unable to have children of her own due to challenges in her marriage, she did not let this stop her from fulfilling her dream of being a mother. Instead, she turned her attention to those who needed it most, dedicating her life to caring for children who had been abandoned or were in need of a loving home. It was this deep, unwavering love that brought me into her embrace. From the moment she found me, she made it her mission to give me the best life possible.

She never treated me as though I was adopted; in her eyes, I was her own child, as much a part of her as if I had been born to her. She faced many challenges, especially in her marriage, but she always put me first. Her love for me was evident in everything she did, from the way she cared for me when I was sick to the sacrifices she made to ensure I had everything I needed. She worked tirelessly to support me, even if it meant going without herself. She was determined to see me succeed, and her selflessness knew no bounds.

One of the most significant ways she impacted my life was by ensuring I could pursue my education. She believed in the power of education and was committed to seeing me through university. This was no small feat, as it required great financial and emotional sacrifice on her part. Yet, she never wavered in her support. She would rather go without than see me deprived, and she often put my needs above her own. Her love and determination were a constant source of strength for me, and they continue to inspire me to this day.

Today, as I work towards my dreams, I carry with me the invaluable lessons she taught me — compassion, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to family. Every achievement I reach, every hurdle I overcome, is a tribute to the woman who believed in me when the world seemed indifferent. Her influence is a guiding light in my life, reminding me always to be kind, to work hard, and to never give up, no matter how tough the road ahead may seem.

Caring for my elder brother, who has faced health challenges since birth, has been a journey filled with both trials and hope. Mrs. Kasali’s love and strength continue to guide me as I strive to support him and provide the care he needs. Every day, I am reminded of her legacy — not just a legacy of love, but of perseverance in the face of adversity. Her spirit lives on in me as I work to ensure my brother has the best life possible. We share the hope that one day, he will find improvement in his health, a hope that keeps us going through even the toughest times.

In memory of Mrs. Roseline Chiajughim Kasali, I celebrate a life that was lived with purpose, a love that knew no bounds, and a legacy that will continue to inspire for generations to come. She was a woman who gave everything she had to ensure that I could have a better life. Her influence is felt in every corner of my life, and her love continues to be a source of comfort and strength.

Though she is no longer with me in body, I know that her spirit is always near, guiding me and watching over me. I will continue to honor her memory in all that I do, striving to live a life that would make her proud. May her soul rest in eternal peace ❤️.
